The country's weather pattern on September 15, 2026 is changing in an interesting and diverse way. In the northern strip and parts of the northeast and southeast, conditions are favorable for the formation of convective clouds, showers, and local thunderstorms. However, in contrast, a large part of the center, south, and southwest of the country remains under the influence of warm and stable weather.

Instability in the Northwest of the Country

According to the 24-hour cumulative precipitation map, instability in the northwest of the country, especially in East and West Azerbaijan, Ardabil, and the highlands of these regions, continues. In these areas, with the warming of the ground during the day, atmospheric convection is enhanced, and warm, humid air rises from the surface to higher altitudes. This process can lead to the formation of vertical and rain-bearing clouds, resulting in short-term showers and local thunderstorms.

Weather Conditions in the Caspian Coastal Strip

In the Caspian coastal strip, the humidity from the Caspian Sea remains one of the main factors of atmospheric instability. This humidity is forced to rise upon reaching the Alborz mountain range, a process known as orographic lifting. As a result, scattered showers and local thunderstorms are expected in the provinces of Gilan, Mazandaran, Golestan, and the Alborz highlands.

In the northeast of the country, the heights of North Khorasan and Razavi Khorasan also remain within the area of atmospheric instability. The precipitation in these areas will occur as point showers, and one area may suddenly receive significant rainfall while neighboring areas remain completely dry.

In the southeast of the country, the humidity from the Oman Sea can enhance the activity of convective clouds in the afternoon and early evening. The southern regions of Kerman, eastern Hormozgan, and parts of Sistan and Baluchestan will be prone to showers and local thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the center, south, and southwest of the country remain dominated by atmospheric stability and subsidence. This phenomenon usually prevents the growth of rain-bearing clouds, and widespread rainfall is not expected in provinces such as Isfahan, Yazd, Qom, Semnan, Fars, Bushehr, and Khuzestan.

In Tehran, the overall conditions are stable, and there are no signs of the formation of a widespread rainfall system, although increased cloudiness and limited instability may occur in the Alborz heights.
