Iran officially protested against the unauthorized activities of the Starlink satellite internet system within its territory. Pavel Bjor Nestad, the Norwegian ambassador in Tehran, was summoned to the Iranian Foreign Ministry on Sunday, October 12, to be informed of this protest.
Misuse of Starlink and Norway's Obligations
Hasaninejad, the Director General of International Peace and Security at the Foreign Ministry, elaborated on the misuse of the Starlink system by the United States and the Israeli regime during this meeting and criticized Norway's inaction in this regard. He pointed out that Norway, as the registering country of Starlink in the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), has responsibilities and should take necessary measures to prevent unauthorized transmissions within Iranian territory.

Repeated Follow-ups and Norway's Lack of Effective Action
The Director General of International Peace and Security at the Iranian Foreign Ministry emphasized that despite the Islamic Republic's repeated follow-ups, no effective action has been taken by Norway to prevent unauthorized activities of Starlink. He also called for an immediate reflection of the Islamic Republic of Iran's request for effective and prompt action from the Norwegian government to stop actions that violate Iran's sovereignty and national security.
In this context, Hasaninejad also delivered a formal protest note to the Norwegian ambassador. This action by Iran demonstrates the country's strong determination and will to defend its sovereignty and national security against external threats.
The misuse of modern technologies, such as Starlink, especially in informational and security fields, can have serious consequences for targeted countries. Iran, as a country facing multiple challenges in the international arena, is highly sensitive to any violation of its sovereignty. Therefore, this protest to Norway is not only a diplomatic reaction but also a sign of the need to protect the sovereign rights of countries in today's world.
