Iran has significantly altered its defensive and military measures in anticipation of a potential new military confrontation following the U.S. midterm elections. While America's maximum pressure campaign and increasing sanctions have placed Iran's economy under severe strain, experts believe that this military posture is not only a defensive necessity but also a way to break the current diplomatic, political, and economic deadlock.
Shifting the Balance of Power in Regional Conflicts
In this context, both sides of the conflict are striving to shift the balance of power in their favor. The U.S. has intensified its economic pressure campaign, while Iran has initiated extensive military preparations. Satellite images show that Iran is implementing civil defense measures to protect its sensitive sites. The construction of earthen barriers and fortifications around nuclear sites such as the Kahang and Natanz facilities aims to slow down any potential ground operations.

Preparing to Respond to Threats
Gholamreza Jalali, head of the Civil Defense Organization, has announced that infrastructures such as airports, ports, and power plants have been prepared for "war conditions" and equipped with backup resources. Reports also indicate that Iran has taken advantage of the pause in direct conflicts to rebuild its missile facilities and replenish its arsenals. Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, has stated that in the event of a renewed attack by the U.S., the response of the Islamic Republic could encompass the entire Middle East.
On the other side, the U.S. military is also preparing for a possible return to war conditions. The deployment of strike groups and the examination of sending air defense systems to regional bases are part of this military arrangement. As tensions in the region are sharply escalating, recent attacks on commercial vessels and economic facilities indicate the severe vulnerability of these targets should conflicts resume.
Alongside military actions, Iran has launched a campaign to prepare public opinion domestically. The installation of billboards for training on the use of various weapons is part of these efforts. Analysts emphasize that this warlike rhetoric could serve as a tool to divert public attention from the economic situation.
