The increase in the price of fancy breads and baguettes in the market has affected the daily lives of many families. Currently, the price of burger bread has reached 45,000 tomans, sweet bread to 180,000 tomans, and industrial Barbari to 90,000 tomans. This price increase is due to changes in the price of flour used for producing industrial breads, which directly impacts production costs.
Reasons for the Increase in Industrial Bread Prices
By examining the market situation, it becomes clear that the price of flour used for producing fancy breads and baguettes has sharply increased. The new flour price has been approved, indicating an increase of about 2.5 times compared to the previous price. While subsidized flour was provided to bakers and industries at one-twentieth of the total cost, now, with the increase in production costs, the prices of breads have naturally risen.

Previously, the price of industrial wheat was about 23,800 tomans, but based on new decisions, this price has increased to 60,000 tomans. These changes have affected baguettes, fancy breads, and other industrial breads, leading to price increases.
Consequences of the Increase in Bread Prices
The increase in bread prices not only affects household expenses but may also lead to a decrease in the consumption of fancy breads and baguettes among the people. Considering that bread is one of the main food sources on Iranian tables, these changes could create a kind of social dissatisfaction. The rise in prices, especially in the cold seasons when bread is considered a source of warmth and energy, is concerning.
Additionally, unions have preemptively decided to price industrial breads based on the new flour rates, while these changes have not yet been officially announced. This situation may lead to disorder in the bread market and thus requires closer monitoring of prices and the provision of subsidized flour.
