Major beer producers in Europe, especially following the Iran war, have warned about rising production costs and the likelihood of increased product prices. Well-known companies like Anheuser-Busch InBev, Heineken, and Carlsberg have been significantly affected by rising energy, transportation, and raw material costs.

Pressure on Production Costs

Companies have stated that with the continuation of the Iran war and the rise in global energy and raw material prices, greater pressure has been placed on their production costs. Beer producers require energy and fuel to manufacture glass bottles and aluminum cans, as well as to transport their products. Specifically, Anheuser-Busch InBev, which produces brands like Stella Artois and Budweiser, has reported increased costs for raw materials, distribution, and transportation in various regions including the U.S., Europe, and South Africa.

Challenges Facing the Beer Industry

Beer companies had previously secured some raw materials and energy through long-term contracts at fixed prices, but with the expiration of these contracts, they are now forced to pay higher costs. Heineken, the second-largest beer producer in the world, has also reported significant cost increases in various regions, particularly in Asia and some African countries, and has predicted that these pressures will continue into next year.

The CEO of Carlsberg, the Danish beer producer, has stated that costs resulting from the war and rising energy and aluminum prices will significantly increase by 2027. He also announced that to offset some of these costs, he will raise product prices next year.

This situation is not limited to the beer industry. Major companies like Coca-Cola and Procter & Gamble have also warned about the economic pressures resulting from the ongoing Iran war. These pressures could have deep impacts on the market and consumer prices, especially in the current conditions where consumers are facing economic challenges, raising concerns.
