Costs and Future Predictions
The cost of executing this section at both the overpass and underpass levels is estimated to be around 1 trillion tomans, which, along with the cost of acquiring the necessary properties, totals another 1 trillion tomans. Mehdi Sadaqati, the CEO of the Engineering and Construction Organization of Tehran Municipality, announced that in the first phase, the route between Imam Khomeini Street and Shahid Dashtgheib Street has been opened, and with the inauguration of the second phase, another part of the traffic routes will be available to citizens. He predicted that the connection route to the north would also be completed within 3 weeks to a month.
Mohsen Doodangeh, the mayor of District 9, emphasized that this route has been opened to facilitate citizens' movement and improve access for residents of the Dashtgheib, Imamzadeh Abdollah, Hashemi, and Jey neighborhoods. It is expected that the reopening of this section will reduce about 15% of the traffic entering Imam Khomeini Highway from south to north. The mayor of Tehran has emphasized the phased operation of the ready sections and efforts are being made to prepare the west to north route of the highway for operation by the end of November.
