Imam Khomeini International University has started the new academic year with the full holding of in-person classes. This university, which has recently seen a warm reception from domestic and international students, has achieved the first rank in the country in mechanical engineering in the latest Shanghai subject ranking.
Start of the academic year with the presence of new students
Dr. Hamid Taheri, the president of the university, in a meeting with the media, commemorating the martyrs of the country and scientific elites, stated: "The start of this academic year, given the conditions imposed on the country, was different from previous years. However, with the strength of the armed forces and the cooperation of the academic community, the educational activities of universities, including our university, began in person. Virtual classes will not be held at all levels." Taheri also referred to the increase in university admissions for the new academic year and said: "This year, nearly three thousand new students will enter the university, bringing the total number of students to over 11,000."
Scientific and international achievements of the university
He continued: "Currently, classes for about 100 doctoral students are held in 65 fields, and master's students will start attending classes from October. Accepted bachelor's students will begin their studies in the second half of November." Dr. Taheri highlighted one of the university's most significant achievements as obtaining the first rank in the country in the field of mechanical engineering in the latest Shanghai subject ranking, considering this position a symbol of the university's movement towards scientific authority.
He noted the increase in international students, saying: "Students from 29 nationalities study at this university, a significant portion of whom are from neighboring countries. Additionally, about 90 African students are among the international students."
Taheri also referred to the continuation of the university's research activities under the current conditions and said: "The university's knowledge-based companies have continued their activities despite the limitations, and the number of produced products has reached 28."
The university president concluded by emphasizing the credibility of the university's degrees, stating: "The degrees from Imam Khomeini International University are internationally recognized at all levels, and graduates have the opportunity for acceptance in scientific references worldwide."
