Hamid Saheb, the Director General of Health of Tehran Municipality, expressed his happiness at the presence of the families of martyrs and the elderly during a ceremony held on Friday evening, October 1st, to commemorate National Elderly Week at Milad Tower. He pointed out the importance of these individuals in society, saying: “When I look at you, the wise ones of the world, it occurs to us that we are the hosts and you are the guests; however, the truth is that this thought is wrong. You are the true owners of this gathering and indeed the true owners of this country.”
The Noble Status of Martyrs and the Treasures of Wisdom
The Director General of Health of Tehran Municipality, recalling the noble status of martyrs, added: “When a martyr makes a deal with God, he reaches the rank of annihilation in truth; he is no longer just a manifestation of existence but the owner of the earth and time. Every success we have is due to the dear martyrs who sacrificed all their capital to reach the lofty rank of the complete human being.”
He also referred to the designation of October 1st to 7th as “National Elderly Week or the Wise Ones” and said: “The elderly are indeed treasures of wisdom and experience. This year, we decided to honor these treasures of wisdom alongside the treasures of sacrifice and love in these sessions, and for this purpose, we held this program with the presence of the esteemed families of martyrs.”
Cultural and Artistic Programs
This ceremony continued with various cultural and artistic programs for the elderly and the families of martyrs, filling the atmosphere of Milad Tower with the fragrance of honoring and remembering the martyrs. The programs included music, poetry readings, and artistic performances that were warmly welcomed by the attendees. These programs were not only dedicated to the memory of martyrs and the elderly but also provided an opportunity to transfer life experiences and the rich Iranian culture to new generations.
Hamid Saheb expressed hope at the end that these programs would be satisfactory to the families of martyrs and the elderly, saying: “I hope you are satisfied with the planned programs, for your satisfaction is the satisfaction of God.”
