On the morning of Saturday, September 11, 2026, the Cinema House hosted a press conference where Homayoun Asadian, the CEO of the Cinema House, and Mohammad Mehdi Asgarpour, the president of the Cinema House board, discussed the issues and challenges facing the film industry.
Challenges of the Film Industry
During this meeting, Asadian emphasized the need to pay attention to the current problems faced by filmmakers and said: "The film industry is currently facing multiple challenges that require special attention from the relevant authorities. We must help each other to overcome these challenges." He also pointed out the lack of adequate financial support and the distribution of cinematic works, adding: "We need a suitable solution for distributing works so that filmmakers can easily showcase their works while protecting their rights."
Mohammad Mehdi Asgarpour also referred to the role of the Cinema House in supporting filmmakers, stating: "At the Cinema House, we strive to empower filmmakers by organizing workshops and training courses. This can lead to an improvement in the quality of cinematic works and ultimately benefit the entire film industry." He also emphasized the importance of government support for filmmakers, saying: "Without government support, Iranian cinema cannot continue to grow and thrive. We need a comprehensive and supportive program from the officials."
