Abdolnaser Hemati, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, at the International Monetary Fund meeting held in Bangkok, highlighted the economic pressures resulting from the imposed war by the United States and Israel against Iran, and emphasized the country's economic resilience. He stated that the claim of the collapse of Iran's economy is merely an illusion, and despite the sanctions, the country's economy has shown that it is capable of confronting these challenges.
Priorities of the Central Bank of Iran
Hemati continued, "Our priorities at the Central Bank are to control inflation, stabilize inflation expectations, maintain financial stability, and ensure the continuity of banking services and the payment system." He emphasized that the Central Bank has played a significant role in maintaining economic stability by providing foreign currency for the country's essential needs and controlling inflationary pressures.

At this meeting, Hemati called on the International Monetary Fund to carefully examine the economic effects of war and sanctions in its supervisory activities. He deemed this responsibility necessary for analysis with uniform criteria for all members and active dialogue among members.
