Heavy rains have reached Tehran and other regions of the country, increasing concerns about the occurrence of floods and river overflow. Recent assessments indicate that the activity of the rain system will continue in the coming days, with the western and southwestern regions of the country and the Zagros heights being the main areas of rainfall.

Forecast of Rains in Tehran and Other Provinces

According to rainfall forecast maps, it is expected that the rains will continue in the coming days with varying intensity across different regions of the country. Given the geographical conditions, there is a possibility of increased runoff and rising river levels. This situation is particularly concerning in provinces such as Khuzestan, Bushehr, Lorestan, Kurdistan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, where the Meteorological Organization has issued red flood and runoff warnings for some of these provinces.

Possibility of Widespread Flooding

In some areas of these provinces, especially in the next 48 hours, there is a possibility of flooding, river overflow, and relatively widespread waterlogging. In Tehran, the rains will also be significant, and in some areas of the capital, there is a risk of runoff. The provinces of Qazvin, Alborz, and Zanjan are also at risk, with a possibility of waterlogging in susceptible areas of these provinces.

Measures such as dredging river paths, reopening bridge openings, and cleaning water drainage channels can be effective in reducing potential damages. Given the forecast of continued activity of the rain system and the possibility of intensified rainfall in susceptible areas, it is essential that preventive measures are quickly adopted. These actions can help reduce the damage and losses caused by flooding.

As the rainy days approach, people should remain vigilant and avoid dangerous points and flood-prone areas. Additionally, local officials and relevant organizations must prepare infrastructure and enhance early warning systems to prevent severe crises. Recent rains, especially in seasons when such phenomena are not typically observed, can be a serious warning for all provinces.
