Heavy rainfall is severely occurring in the provinces of South Khorasan and Sistan and Baluchestan, and the national meteorological organization has issued warnings in this regard. The rainfall is such that experts have issued an orange weather warning, and this situation could lead to flooding, overflowing seasonal rivers, and waterlogging of streets.

Risks Associated with the Rainfall

Heavy rainfall brings many hazards. Flooding, river overflow, and disruption of transportation networks are among these risks. Additionally, slippery roads, reduced visibility, temporary strong winds, and the possibility of old tree breakage are other consequences of this rainfall. Kobra Rafiei, an expert from the meteorological organization, stated: "For the coming days, scattered rain, thunder, and strong winds are expected in susceptible areas."

A New Rain Wave is Coming

According to forecasts, a new wave of rainfall will enter the country on Thursday, starting precipitation in the western half of the country. Initially, this rainfall will cover the provinces of West Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Ilam, and Lorestan. A drop in temperature is also expected in these areas. On Friday, rain is predicted in the northwest, west, southwest, parts of the south, northeast, and the coastal provinces of the Caspian Sea.

Alongside this rainfall, the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz are also experiencing rough and turbulent weather. Increased wind speed and wave height in the coastal areas of Khuzestan province are accompanied by an orange marine weather warning, and this situation could pose risks to swimmers and small boats. Under these conditions, it is advised to refrain from swimming and limit the movement of light boats.

In Tehran, scattered rain showers, thunder, and temporary strong winds are expected at certain hours. From Thursday afternoon, the activity of a new precipitation system will begin in the capital. It is predicted that the average temperature in the country has increased by 1.3 degrees Celsius over the past week compared to the long-term period. The highest temperature increase has been reported in the provinces of Gilan and Khuzestan.
