Hangameh Hadiani made history by participating in the Nagoya Asian Games, becoming the first Iranian girl to compete in these events after the revolution. In these competitions, Iran's sports delegation managed to win 19 gold, 18 silver, and 15 bronze medals, placing sixth overall. One of the highlights of these competitions was the outstanding performance of female athletes, who were able to break several major barriers.

An Unforgettable Experience

Hangameh Hadiani, a 20-year-old gymnast, told our reporter about her experience of her first participation in the Asian Games: "I felt very good, and it was my dream to compete outside of Iran. Just being present as a representative of Iranian girls at the Asian Games was a great honor for me." She mentioned the stress and high pressure of these competitions, stating: "Thank God I completed it successfully."

Breaking Barriers and Representing Iranian Girls

This young girl expressed her feelings about being the first Iranian girl after the revolution to compete in gymnastics at an international competition, saying: "It was very encouraging, and many girls commented on my page that you are living our dream. Just being able to reach this position and fulfill my childhood dream to represent my country made me very happy.

Hangameh also explained her performance in the competitions and the gap between her and her competitors: "The gap between me and my competitors was very large. Of course, if I had better conditions, I might have reached the finals. My main competitors were from China, South Korea, and Japan, who are global powers and all Olympic athletes." She hopes to have a smaller gap with her competitors in future competitions.

Challenges and Family Support

Hangameh referred to the challenges she faced during her training, saying: "Unfortunately, the quota given to us was without a coach, and this greatly affected my performance. Competing without a coach was very difficult." She thanked her family, especially her mother, for their support, stating: "My family's support was immense, and because of them, I am here now."

This athlete also mentioned the state of sports facilities, saying: "Over the years, the facilities have somewhat improved, but our main equipment is almost in ruins. The halls are weak, and I hope it gets better."

A Bright Future and Big Goals

Hangameh Hadiani is hopeful about her future and stated her goal is to participate in the World Championships and the Olympics: "For now, we are waiting for the federation elections to determine our program. I think my focus will be more on the 2032 Olympics." She also mentioned the challenges ahead in securing a quota for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, saying: "I will try, and I hope to achieve my goal."

A Message to Iranian Girls

In the end, Hangameh had an encouraging message for Iranian girls: "Believe in your dreams and keep going; you will definitely reach your goal." She also thanked the Khorasan Razavi province council and the Gymnastics Federation for providing the conditions for competition.
