Goudarzi, the head of the Statistical Center of Iran, stated that the national population census will soon be conducted via SMS and the My Government portal, detailing this process for the public. This initiative aims to increase the accuracy and speed of demographic data collection, allowing citizens to register their information with just two simple SMS messages.
Census via SMS
Goudarzi said: "To register for the census, people only need to send a message to the SMS number that will be announced. This SMS will include basic information such as name, surname, and national ID number. After sending the message, a confirmation SMS will be sent to users to ensure the accuracy of the information."

He also added: "This method will be particularly useful for individuals who do not have internet access. By using this method, we can easily and quickly collect demographic information and achieve more accurate analyses."
Advantages of Using the My Government Portal
Goudarzi explained that in addition to SMS, people can also use the My Government portal to register and provide information. This portal acts as a comprehensive platform for delivering government services to citizens and facilitates access to various government services.
He continued: "Using the My Government portal allows users to benefit from various other government services while easily registering their information. This will contribute to transparency and accuracy in data collection."
Goudarzi also emphasized the importance of the population census, stating: "The census serves as a key tool in the country's social and economic planning. Accurate and up-to-date information about the country's population helps the government improve services and infrastructure and better understand the real needs of the people."
Start of the Census Process
He mentioned the start date of this process, saying: "The national population census will begin on the specified date, and people can register and provide information according to the announcements made. We hope that this new method will be a turning point in collecting demographic information and help improve planning in the country."
