The Governor of Gilan, during this event, expressed gratitude to professors, students, and researchers, considering Gilan's hosting of this scientific event a valuable opportunity to showcase the scientific and engineering capabilities of the country and the province. He also referred to the image presented of Iran abroad, saying: "The reality is that Iran is also at the forefront in various scientific and technological fields, and holding the national concrete event is a clear example of these capabilities."

Haqshenas pointed out that the country's scientific achievements have emerged under various conditions, even in the midst of crises, stating: "During periods when universities faced restrictions and some classes were held virtually, we witnessed the continuity of scientific and research activities, and today the fruits of these efforts are evident in holding such events."
He also added: "Iranians have always shown that even in difficult conditions and crises, they can create significant achievements, and this capacity must be supported and focused on more than ever."
The Importance of Resilience in the Construction Industry
The Governor of Gilan further referred to the country's experience in facing natural disasters and various crises, saying: "Our country has faced incidents such as floods, earthquakes, and wars in recent years, and in such conditions, the issue of resilience and improving construction quality becomes even more critical."
He considered construction and the construction industry as one of the important areas for utilizing the latest scientific achievements and added: "Holding competitions and events like the national concrete competition can provide a platform for using contemporary knowledge in constructing stronger and more resilient structures against various crises."
Quality of Materials and Technical Knowledge in Construction
Haqshenas continued to emphasize the importance of the quality of materials and technical knowledge in the construction industry, stating: "For building a structure, the quality of materials, engineering knowledge, and how to use them are decisive factors to ensure that a building has sufficient strength and resistance against various incidents."
During this ceremony, the President of Islamic Azad University of Gilan also noted the extensive participation of universities from across the country in this scientific event, stating: "More than 200 students from public and Islamic Azad universities across the country are participating in the twenty-fourth national concrete competition in the form of 105 student groups."
Majid Maleki Chubari, the President of Islamic Azad University of Rasht, also mentioned the presence of 45 professors and specialists in the field of concrete and structures as judges for this round of the competition, indicating the scientific and national level of this event.
At the end, the Governor of Gilan visited the technological exhibition of concrete and related industries, which is being held simultaneously with the twenty-fourth national concrete competition hosted by Islamic Azad University of Rasht, marking the official commencement of this national event.
