Gholamhossein Mozaffari, the governor of Khorasan Razavi, met with the academic delegation of Tajikistan during his trip and emphasized the possibility of cooperation between Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and the Tajikistan International Tourism University. This meeting was held to strengthen scientific and educational relations between the two countries.
Potential for Scientific Cooperation
In this meeting, Mozaffari referred to the extensive activities of knowledge-based companies and research centers in Khorasan Razavi and spoke about the high potential of this province in the field of vocational education and modern technologies. He called for joint meetings to exchange students and faculty to enhance the scientific level of both countries, citing the province's successful experience in tourism management and hosting three million foreign tourists annually.

Diverse Areas of Cooperation
The governor of Khorasan Razavi, referring to the diverse areas of cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan, added: "We can collaborate in creating joint courses and educational programs, implementing dual degree programs, exchanging students and faculty, holding joint scientific conferences, and publishing scientific works and books." He also mentioned the agreements made regarding the use of Iran's experiences in renewable energy and the development of green relations and economy.
During this meeting, Behrouz Mohibi Najm Abadi, the head of the Khorasan Razavi representatives assembly, also stated the historical and civilizational ties between Iran and Tajikistan, saying: "You are our friends and sympathizers, and no one can erase the love and affection that exists between our nations." He pointed to the scientific capacities of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and Hakim Sabzevari University, stating that these universities have more than 300 faculty members who are among the top one to two percent of scientists in the world.
Mohibi also referred to the activities of knowledge-based companies in Iran and spoke about the legal support from the parliament in this regard. He added: "The enemy thinks it can destroy our civilization, while civilization cannot be destroyed, and despite the damages inflicted on the country, our knowledge-based companies will resume their activities."
Mohammad Reza Tavakkolizadeh, the head of the Khorasan Razavi Chamber of Commerce, also referred to Iran's economic experiences in this meeting, stating: "Although we face challenges in improving the country's economy, we are working hard to resolve them."
Gholamhossein Mozaffari, the governor of Khorasan Razavi, arrived in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, on October 20 to participate in the Khatlon International Investment Conference and Exhibition 2026. This trip aims to develop trade relations between Iran and Tajikistan and to plan for future visits and participation in permanent exhibitions.
