Ghasem Noudah Farahani, the head of the country's Chamber of Guilds, announced the start of selling Sangak bread by weight from the beginning of Aban. This decision was made following criticisms and complaints from bakers and members of parliament regarding the lack of a specific price for bread. Noudah Farahani emphasized that bakers and the public demanded a change in the selling method of bread due to dissatisfaction with the current situation.

Challenges in Determining Bread Prices

According to Noudah Farahani's statements, recently, members of parliament have pointed out that all food items have specific prices, and the question has arisen as to why bread, which is one of the staple foods, does not have a price. For this reason, meetings were held to determine what the weight of the Sangak bread, which should be 650 grams, would actually be and at what price it would reach the public.

Noudah Farahani added: "We are seeking to offer bread by weight to the public through these meetings and thereby gain the satisfaction of bakers and consumers." This change in the selling method of bread aims to meet market needs and prevent existing dissatisfaction.

Trial of Weight-Based Sales in Tehran

Initial steps to implement the weight-based sale of Sangak bread in Tehran have begun. The head of the Chamber of Guilds explained that after this stage, the authority to supervise and control the weight-based sale of bread will be transferred to the governors. This action is taken to create transparency and improve the bread situation in the market.

Noudah Farahani also emphasized that this decision will benefit producers and consumers, and it is expected that the implementation of this plan will minimize existing problems in the bread sector. Given the importance of bread in people's food baskets, this change could have positive effects on the daily lives of citizens.

Finally, the head of the Chamber of Guilds urged the public to cooperate in this new phase and to report any problems to supervisory bodies. He expressed hope that with the implementation of this plan, bread, as one of the main food items, would be made more fairly accessible to the public.
