Challenging Living Conditions for Government Employees
Fereydoun Hemmati, referring to the importance of increasing the salaries of government employees, workers, pensioners, and individuals covered by support institutions in next year's budget, stated: The increases from last year were not in line with the inflation that occurred, and despite the commendable endurance of these groups, their living conditions remain difficult.
Millions Awaiting Salary Increases
He added: One of our important issues in next year's budget is the increase in salaries for employees, workers, pensioners, and individuals covered by support institutions. The millions of people in these groups are eagerly awaiting the determination of the percentage increase in salaries for the coming year. This expectation will not only affect the lives of these individuals but also the market.

Hemmati stated that improving the living conditions of these groups also impacts the market, saying: When the living conditions of these individuals are better, this will also affect the market. Therefore, we need to review the resources available to the government, identify priorities, and see which expenses can be temporarily set aside so that we can then decide on the percentage increase in salaries.
Big Aspirations for Next Year
He emphasized: Our effort is that the salary increase for next year should not be less than 30 to 40 percent; however, we need to see what figure the government predicts and presents in the budget bill. The government also wishes for a salary increase, but this depends on the resources it has. When there are insufficient resources, the government and parliament will also not have the capacity for a larger increase.
This parliament member stressed the necessity of controlling inflation alongside salary increases, stating: Another important issue is that we should have a plan to control inflation simultaneously with the salary increase. Government employees and pensioners say that if salaries are not going to increase, at least inflation should remain at the same level.
Two Simultaneous Actions to Improve Conditions
Hemmati stated: Therefore, we need to pursue two actions simultaneously; first, increasing salaries, and second, controlling and managing inflation using specific mechanisms. These two issues should be considered as main priorities in the planning of next year's budget so that we can help improve the living conditions of these groups.
