Ehsan Malekzadeh emphasized that truck traffic is ongoing at all land borders of the country, stating: The transfer of imported and exported cargo from maritime routes to roadways is the main factor behind the increase in traffic and the creation of waiting times at some border terminals.

Reasons for Truck Waiting at Border Terminals

Malekzadeh further explained the reasons for truck waiting at the country's exit points: The main reason for the occurrence of traffic and temporary stops is the shift and transfer of a significant volume of imported and exported goods from maritime routes to the road network. With the increase in traffic load on the roads and terminals, the waiting time for fleets naturally increases.

Efforts to Facilitate Cargo Exit

The chairman of the board of the Iranian International Transport Companies Association referred to the measures taken to facilitate cargo exit and said: The Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization has made every effort to minimize existing obstacles from the internal terminals and to increase the speed of fleet clearance.

He also described the status of various terminals in the country and said: In the southeast of the country, the Rimdan border adjacent to Pakistan has become one of the busiest and most trafficked crossings. Unfortunately, due to the high volume of demand for road transport, the average waiting time for fleets at this border reaches 17 to 18 days.

Status of Other Borders in the Country

Malekzadeh pointed out the northwest and southern borders of the country, stating: At the Bazargan border, traffic is proceeding very well and smoothly due to the establishment of new facilities and arrangements. Meanwhile, at the Poldasht (Nakhchivan) border, we are still facing some waiting times.

He also mentioned: The southern and western borders like Mehran and Shalamcheh are fully active, and we hope that with the development of border cooperation, other crossings will also facilitate traffic and fleet exit with higher operational capacity.
