Dr. Roodabeh Bahram-Soltani, assistant professor of traditional pharmacy at the Iranian Medicine Faculty of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, has successfully achieved the title of one of the world's most cited scientists (ESI) for the third time. Hossein Rezaei-Zadeh, head of the Iranian and Complementary Medicine Center of the Ministry of Health and secretary of the Development Headquarters of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine, stated: "Dr. Bahram-Soltani has continuously been on this global list since September 2022."
Effective Research and the Connection of Indigenous Knowledge
Dr. Bahram-Soltani's research focus is on the development of natural products based on authentic sources of traditional medicine and the evaluation of pharmacological activities in preclinical and clinical studies, representing a successful model of the connection between indigenous knowledge and reputable international methodologies. Rezaei-Zadeh noted the continuity of successes in the field of traditional pharmacy, emphasizing: "These honors are not a sporadic occurrence but the result of a dynamic and sustainable elite body."

He pointed out the previous successes of other professors such as Dr. Roja Rahimi and Dr. Mohammad-Hossein Farzai, emphasizing that these individuals are also on the list of the world's most cited scientists, and now Dr. Bahram-Soltani has joined this group.
The Key Role of Traditional Pharmacy in Community Health
Rezaei-Zadeh stressed the importance of continuing this scientific flow with the presence of prominent figures in the country's traditional medicine and pharmacy and said: "Dr. Arman Zargaran, Dr. Zareh Nas, Dr. Bahjat Javadi, and Dr. Mojtaba Heydari are among the distinguished professors who are among the top two percent of the world's most cited scientists."
These achievements, as part of a large national capacity in the field of pharmacy, reflect the depth of influence and research richness of traditional pharmacy in Iran on an international scale. Dr. Rezaei-Zadeh noted that from 2013 to 2022, the Islamic Republic of Iran published approximately 30,068 articles in the fields of pharmacology, toxicology, and pharmacy, accounting for 2.89 percent of global production in this area.
He added: "These figures indicate that the continued presence of our scientists in the top global rankings is a sign of continuity in the production of first-class knowledge and the high potential of this field to become a scientific hub in the region."
Dr. Rezaei-Zadeh considered these achievements to be more than just an individual title and stated: "Research in traditional pharmacy is the starting point and driving force for the development of health-oriented products that connect to clinical evaluation phases." Thus, the approach that complements traditional pharmacy research in enhancing community health is formed through synergy between basic pharmacy sciences and clinical specialists.
Finally, Dr. Rezaei-Zadeh emphasized the tenfold output to human capacity ratio in this field, stating that the production of clinical evidence and global achievements is the result of maximum productivity and purposeful efforts aligned with each other.
