Dr. Kiana Farahi, a dermatologist and beauty specialist, pointed out key skincare tips in several interviews that many of us are still unaware of. Despite various advertisements on social media, a proper understanding of the needs of the facial and eye skin can help improve our appearance.
Realistic expectations from eye cream
Dr. Farahi stated that eye creams have limited power and cannot completely resolve issues such as dark circles, puffiness, or drooping eyelids. These products may improve dryness and the appearance of some lines, but one should not expect miracles from them.

Most important skincare products
According to her, sunscreen is the most important product for rejuvenating and maintaining youthful skin, especially in the eye area. The use of sunscreen with SPF 50 is recommended for sunny conditions in Iran. She also noted that using sunscreen for the eye area is not essential, and facial sunscreen can be used as long as it is not irritating.
Dr. Farahi continued by saying that moisturizer and sunscreen are the two main products in a skincare routine, and there is no need to buy specific eye creams. 90% of eye creams are strong moisturizers and perform almost the same function.
She also mentioned that there is no need to use special cleansers for cleaning the eye area, and baby shampoo or even plain water can help clean this area. The key point is that the eyelid edge and the lash line should be cleaned well to reduce inflammation and microbial buildup.
Dr. Farahi noted that there is a lot of advertising about active ingredients like peptides and caffeine, but these ingredients are not always recognized as effective options. She suggested choosing products with more well-known and proven ingredients like retinoids that help with collagen production.
Finally, she emphasized that more expensive products are not necessarily of higher quality, and choosing reasonably priced products that meet the skin's needs is much better.
