The charging of the wallets of 33,000 mothers in Tehran, as part of the Bright Eye plan, heralds financial and social support for families. This plan, introduced by Maryam Ardabili, head of the Women and Family Center of the Tehran Municipality, and Abdolmahtab Mohammadkhani, spokesperson for the municipality, is designed to enhance the security and ease of life for women and families.
Details of the Bright Eye Plan
The Bright Eye plan allows mothers to benefit from financial advantages. According to this plan, children born in 1405 will receive support packages from the Tehran Municipality as part of Iranian tradition and Quranic foundations. These packages include various services and facilities for mothers and children, which will be activated from October 2024 and charged monthly until the child reaches two years of age.
Maryam Ardabili mentioned in a press conference that as soon as mothers enter the Shahrzad system and activate their accounts using their national ID, their wallets will be charged. She added that since the unveiling of this package, the wallets of 33,000 mothers who gave birth from Farvardin to Mehr have been fully charged. Currently, 19,000 of these mothers have used their accounts.
Amount Charged and Related Costs
According to Ardabili, each month between 3.5 to 4 million tomans will be charged to the mothers' accounts. This amount depends on family management and will be charged for all mothers and newborns, regardless of the order of the child in the family. Of this total, 2.5 million tomans is allocated for purchases from fruit and vegetable markets and Shahrvand stores, 500,000 tomans for cultural packages, and 500,000 tomans for health packages.
She also stated that for families in the lower income brackets, one million tomans will be charged monthly for health. Thus, throughout the year, each family can benefit from 6 million tomans for health and 6 million tomans for cultural packages, which can be used throughout the year.
Conditions and Registration Process for the Plan
Ardabili also emphasized that all children born in Tehran will be eligible for this plan and there is no need for new identity verification. Parents only need to register their national ID and postal code of their residence and workplace in the Shahrzad system. If the Civil Registration Organization recognizes them as Tehran citizens, the Tehran Municipality will have no restrictions on providing services.
Finally, the head of the Women and Family Center of the Tehran Municipality noted that this plan is entirely managed by the Tehran Municipality and its financial resources are not dependent on density selling or government budgets. These resources are provided through municipal revenues and are dedicated to improving the living conditions of families in Tehran.
