Brigadier General Seyyed Majid Ibn al-Ridha, head of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, discussed the historical and civilizational status of Iran at a meeting of heads of some industrial organizations of the Ministry of Defense. He emphasized that the Iranian civilization is deeply rooted, and that the Iranian nation possesses a rich history and culture that far exceeds the lifespan of many contemporary governments and political structures.

Emphasis on Preserving National Identity

Ibn al-Ridha continued: "Today, we must rely on our scientific, industrial, and defensive capabilities to preserve the historical heritage of the country and the right of the Iranian people to independently determine their own destiny." He referred to the foolish remarks of American officials about Iran and Iranian civilization, stating that such comments reflect a profound ignorance or misunderstanding of Iran's rich history and culture.

Brigadier General Ibn al-Ridha said: "Those who speak about the civilizational identity of our nation with hateful and resentful rhetoric put themselves at great risk of misunderstanding. The civilization of Iran is not something that can be tarnished by a few remarks. This land has deep historical roots and an undeniable share in the scientific, cultural, and intellectual heritage of humanity."

Dangerous Consequences of Civilizational Confrontation

Ibn al-Ridha emphasized that civilizational confrontation is playing with fire, and its initiators cannot set boundaries for its expansion and conclusion. He said: "History has shown that powers that enter into civilizational confrontation with a sense of superiority face realities that they did not account for in their initial calculations."

He added: "The responsibility for the dangerous consequences of exacerbating civilizational confrontation lies with those who consciously choose such a path. The fire of civilizational confrontation not only burns other nations but also reaches its own initiators."

The head of the Ministry of Defense concluded by stating: "Iran's response to this approach is a combination of historical awareness, national self-confidence, scientific and industrial progress, and comprehensive defensive readiness. We do not seek to prove our civilization through humiliation or by provoking others, and our position is clear: mutual respect, the independence of nations, and avoidance of threats and imposition of will on others."

Brigadier General Ibn al-Ridha ultimately regarded defending Iran as defending a land with deep-rooted history and identity, stating: "Strengthening the scientific, industrial, and defensive capabilities of the country is not a temporary choice, but a strategic necessity. We know our history and will be prepared to face any threat."
