Alireza Boroujerdi, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, explicitly stated that Tehran will not engage in any negotiations with Washington unless Iran's seven conditions are fully implemented. These remarks come at a time when tensions between Iran and the United States have significantly increased in recent years, affecting various regions of the Middle East.
Conditions for Negotiation with the U.S.
Boroujerdi further added that Iran seeks to preserve its national interests and that negotiations with the U.S. must be conducted within the framework of the country's interests. He emphasized that Iran's seven conditions include key issues such as the nuclear program, support for resistance groups in the region, and the lifting of sanctions. Consequences of a New War
The parliament representative also warned that if any new war breaks out, Iran's response will be significantly stronger than before. He stated that such a war would not only affect Iran but would also have repercussions across the region. Boroujerdi, referring to past experiences and the heavy costs of wars, emphasized that any new conflict must be prevented.
These statements by Boroujerdi come at a time when Iran's nuclear negotiations with the P5+1 and the United States are at a sensitive stage. Many experts believe that a failure to reach an agreement in these negotiations could lead to increased tensions and even military conflicts in the region. Boroujerdi also called for greater attention to domestic conditions and strengthening diplomacy as a means to reduce tensions.
In the current situation, where Iran is experiencing economic and social crises, many parliament representatives believe that diplomacy should be the primary tool for addressing the country's foreign issues. In this regard, Boroujerdi emphasized that diplomatic capacities must be effectively utilized to achieve a sustainable and reasonable agreement.
