Colonel Mohammad Kaboudtabar, the sixth precinct chief of preventive police in the capital, announced the arrest of an individual who was impersonating a police officer in the Masoudiyeh area and surrounding regions, extorting citizens. This individual had stolen the mobile phone of one citizen by introducing himself as an officer.

Public Reports and Start of Investigations

Upon receiving reports from citizens about individuals claiming to be police officers, the officers of precinct 157 began investigating the matter. During their patrols, one citizen informed the officers that the occupants of a Peugeot vehicle had taken his mobile phone, claiming to be officers.

After receiving the vehicle's details, the officers identified the car. At this stage, the driver did not heed the police's stop order and fled. The officers pursued the vehicle and ultimately managed to stop it by firing a warning shot.

Arrest and Discovery of Fake Documents

After stopping the vehicle, several of its occupants managed to escape, but one was arrested after a struggle with the officers. During a search of the vehicle, the officers discovered several mobile phones and a fake police identification card. Colonel Kaboudtabar stated that initial investigations indicate the suspect had used this card to impersonate an officer and extort citizens.

The arrest of this individual demonstrates the vigilance and continuous efforts of the police to combat various crimes. The preventive police in the capital believe that with the cooperation of the public and timely reports, public safety can be improved. This incident not only emphasizes the need for citizens to be aware of potential dangers but also highlights the important role of the police in maintaining security and peace in the community.

Overall, this type of crime, involving impersonation and the exploitation of social tendencies, always poses a threat to society. Therefore, public awareness and vigilance in identifying and reporting such activities can significantly help reduce these crimes.
