Armed attacks in Sistan and Baluchestan province over the past 24 hours have led to the deaths of two personnel from the army and police forces, injuring several others. These incidents occurred while the security of this province, especially in border areas with Pakistan and Afghanistan, is constantly influenced by militant groups and armed individuals.

Details of the Armed Attacks

A minibus carrying personnel from the 88th Armored Division of the Army (NAJA) that was relocating for a shift change in Nikshahr County was targeted in an armed attack. In this incident, one army personnel lost their life and three others were injured. This shooting has severely impacted the security of military personnel in the area.

Simultaneously, a police special forces patrol on the Lakshak Nasratabad-Zahidan route was also attacked. Jamshid Rakhshani Nasab, the governor of Zahidan, announced that the police vehicle was targeted while on a mission. In this clash, one police personnel was killed, and several of the attackers were injured due to return fire.

Operation Launched to Identify Attackers

Following these incidents, security officials of the Islamic Republic have launched a large-scale operation to identify and apprehend the fleeing perpetrators. This action is particularly important given that Sistan and Baluchestan province is always under security threats due to its borders with Pakistan and Afghanistan and the presence of armed groups.

In another incident that occurred in Golshan County, two police teams faced an explosion and return gunfire while exiting the command headquarters. In this clash, one attacker was killed, and several others were injured.

Sistan and Baluchestan province, due to its unique geographical position, has always faced security challenges and has previously witnessed armed conflicts between military forces and militant groups. These new attacks have once again heightened concerns about the security of this province and highlighted the need for more serious measures.
