Yellow Weather Alert for 5 Provinces
Fariba Goudarzi, an expert from the National Meteorological Organization, announced that a clear sky is predicted for most parts of the country over the next five days. Starting this evening, with the arrival of a new precipitation system, rain showers, thunderstorms, and strong winds are expected in susceptible areas, along with hail in East Azerbaijan, North West Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Gilan, and the heights of Mazandaran, for which a yellow weather alert has been issued.
Risks Associated with the Precipitation System
The risks of this warning include the possibility of river water levels rising, flooding of streets, runoff, lightning, temporary strong winds, the potential for old and weakened trees to break, and slippery roads. Goudarzi added: The activity of this precipitation system and the yellow weather alert will continue tomorrow in the northwest and north of the country. Additionally, on Sunday, rain showers are expected in southern Sistan and Baluchestan, southern and southwestern Kerman, eastern and northern Hormozgan.
Dust Uprising and Safety Recommendations
Temporary strong winds and the possibility of dust uprising are predicted from today until the middle of next week. Goudarzi continued: Today, conditions are favorable for the formation of dust clouds in Iraq, and there is a possibility of it moving into the northwest and west of the country. Relatively strong to strong winds in some areas will be accompanied by dust, reduced horizontal visibility, and decreased air quality in West Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, western Kermanshah, northern Sistan and Baluchestan, and the eastern strip of South Khorasan with a yellow weather alert.
In these conditions, caution is advised when passing through mountainous areas, ensuring the stability of temporary structures and advertising signs, avoiding parking vehicles near old trees and unfinished buildings, exercising caution in road traffic, and using masks in desert and arid areas, especially for sensitive groups.
The Caspian Sea and the eastern Oman Sea are also rough and turbulent. Increased wind speed and wave height in coastal and offshore areas of Hormozgan province, in the Strait of Hormuz, eastern Persian Gulf, and western Oman Sea, as well as in coastal and offshore areas of Mazandaran and Golestan provinces, are accompanied by a yellow weather alert. The risks of this warning include the possibility of drowning for swimmers and divers, tearing of fishing nets, damage to fish farming cages, and disruption of maritime traffic.
The sky in Tehran is also predicted to be clear and sunny. Goudarzi said: There is a possibility of temporary strong winds in the western and southern regions of Tehran province during the afternoon hours. Today's temperature fluctuations in Tehran will be between 23 and 36 degrees Celsius. In the past 24 hours, Babashani in Kurdistan province has been the coolest area with a temperature of 2 degrees, and Ab Pakhsh in Bushehr has been the hottest area in the country with a temperature of 47 degrees.
