American Muslims and Islamic organizations in the country have launched a widespread campaign to increase political participation among Muslims and to politically counter the policies of the Trump administration ahead of the midterm congressional elections. This campaign particularly focuses on opposing Washington's support for the Zionist regime, the war against Iran, rising Islamophobia, and the intensification of the U.S. government's immigration policies.

Worrying Statistics and the Need for Participation

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has issued a call for eligible voters to participate in the elections on Tuesday. Survey results from this organization, published on October 28 and including 861 American Muslims, show that 84% of respondents are dissatisfied with Trump's performance, while only 6% are satisfied with the U.S. President's performance. Additionally, 72% have stated that they intend to vote for Democratic candidates.

According to the same survey, 89% of participating Muslims considered the candidates' positions on Gaza to be a very important or extremely important factor in their electoral decision-making. This data indicates that the Trump administration's support for the Zionist regime in the Gaza war, as well as Washington's positions regarding the war against Iran, have had a profound impact on the political attitudes of American Muslims.

Call from Muslim Scholars and the Necessity of Responding to Attacks

Alongside legal and civil organizations, several Muslim scholars in America have emphasized the necessity of political participation and called on Muslims to engage in the elections. Yasir Qadhi, a well-known Muslim scholar, stressed that Muslims should use their civic rights to support candidates who advocate for freedom and justice.

Omar Suleiman, president of the Islamic Institute for Peace, also criticized the political use of attacks against Muslims after voting early, stating: Voting is not everything, but it is not without impact either. He urged Muslims in Texas and Michigan to participate in the elections.

Trump's anti-Islamic positions and his repeated attacks on Muslim figures have become a focal point of criticism from Islamic organizations. Recently, at a campaign rally in Michigan, he targeted Abdul-Sayed, a Muslim candidate for the U.S. Senate. Additionally, Ilhan Omar, a Muslim Congresswoman from Minnesota, has also been the target of Trump's derogatory remarks.

Recent developments indicate the significant impact of Muslim and Arab-American votes in the 2024 presidential elections in the U.S. Given the dissatisfaction with Trump's policies regarding Palestine, Iran, immigration, and Muslim rights, this community could play a decisive role in the upcoming elections.
