Ali Rahimi, the CEO of Tehran Taxi Organization, elaborated on the new resolution of the Islamic Council of Tehran regarding the pricing of school services for the academic year 2025-2026 in a press conference. According to this resolution, the fare rates are determined using a formula that includes a base amount, entrance fee, and cost per kilometer.

Support for Families and Special Rates

Rahimi further added: To support families, the fare for vans is set at 80% and for line minibuses at 50% of the rates for passenger cars. Additionally, for the elementary level, a special increase coefficient has been considered due to the need for more care when students are getting on and off.

He explained: According to Note 5 of Article 1 of this resolution, the school service fare for one academic year is calculated considering 9 months for the secondary level and 8 months for the elementary level, with official public holidays also taken into account.

Monitoring Safety and Quality of Services

Rahimi emphasized that the Taxi Organization, as the issuing authority for qualification certificates, will closely monitor the proper implementation of this resolution and the quality of services provided by related companies. The safety of students is a priority for this organization, and all efforts will be made to ensure this safety.

The CEO of the Tehran Municipality's Management and Supervision of Taxi Organization also stated regarding the status of school services in the capital: The main responsible party for these services is the Ministry of Education, and the Taxi Organization acts as a supervisor. Service-providing companies must also obtain the necessary licenses from this organization.

He pointed out the existing problems in this area and said: Despite the support from the Ministry of Interior and the launch of the Sepand system, there has not been satisfactory cooperation from the Ministry of Education, and this lack of integration has caused confusion for families. The municipality and traffic police are ready to provide any necessary cooperation to organize school services, but stakeholders and responsible agencies must take action to resolve existing issues.

Rahimi also discussed the status of companies active in the school service sector, stating: Out of 130 taxi companies, 64 have so far approached the Tehran Taxi Organization to obtain a license.

He noted the registration statistics of students in the Sepand system, stating: So far, more than 18,312 students have been registered by Tehranian parents in this system and have applied for school services.

The CEO of the Tehran Municipality's Management and Supervision of Taxi Organization urged parents to report any fare collection outside the approved rate list through the Tehran Municipality's 137 system so that necessary follow-ups can be made.

These actions are aimed at preserving citizens' rights and ensuring continuous monitoring of the correct implementation of resolutions to improve school service quality.
