Ahmad Midari, Minister of Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare, in his latest statements announced the issuance of guidelines dedicated to the adjustment of pensions for 1.8 million retirees who are members of the Civil Pension Fund. Midari stated that the implementation of this provision in the budget law for the year 1405 has faced delays due to specific complexities in issuing the decrees.
Complexities in Issuing Decrees
The Minister of Welfare noted that issuing pension decrees requires approval from the Administrative and Recruitment Organization, and the financial resources for these decrees will be provided by the Planning and Budget Organization. He also reminded that with the offering of shares from privatized companies, the necessary resources for implementing the adjustment of pensions will be allocated to the Ministry of Welfare's account in December or January of this year.

According to Midari, as soon as the decrees are approved by the Administrative and Recruitment Organization, the process of adjusting pensions will begin. This issue has revived hopes among retirees, as they expect their pensions to be updated in accordance with the country's economic conditions.
Financial Resources for Pension Adjustment
Midari also referred to another method of financing retirees' pensions, stating that increasing the value-added tax by 1% to 9% from the 10% stipulated by law will help in adjusting pensions. According to clause "R" of Note 6 of this year's budget law, the value-added tax on goods will be calculated at 10%.
Based on statistics provided by the Tax Affairs Organization, the revenue from this tax increase has reached 64.2 trillion tomans in the first 7 months of this year, which has been deposited into the treasury of the country. This revenue will also be allocated to the adjustment of retirees' pensions and promises to improve their financial situation.
Role of the Administrative and Recruitment Organization
Aladdin Rafizadeh, Vice President and Head of the Administrative and Recruitment Organization, explained that this organization does not itself issue pension decrees, and the decrees are issued by the Civil Pension Fund. He also emphasized that the Administrative and Recruitment Organization was supposed to issue the guidelines for the adjustment of pensions, which has now been done.
Overall, these developments regarding the adjustment of civil servants' pensions have created hope among this segment of society and indicate the government's attention to their problems. Retirees, who have worked hard for years to serve the country, now expect to experience a better life with improved financial conditions.
