Mohammad Akhoundi, the head of the Program and Budget Commission of the Islamic City Council of Tehran, presented a report on the revenue and expenditure accounts of the municipality in the first six months ending in September 2026 during the 443rd session of the Islamic City Council of Tehran. He appreciated the efforts of the municipality staff, pointed out the strengths and weaknesses of this report, and spoke about the positive performance of the municipality in achieving revenues.
Tax and Customs Revenues; A Sign of Success
Akhoundi, referring to the status of the collection of sustainable revenues of the municipality, stated that in the area of value-added tax and customs entry points, the approved annual figure is about 51 trillion tomans. According to the six-month plan, it was expected that by the end of September, about 26 trillion tomans would be collected, but this figure reached about 33 trillion tomans, equivalent to 127% of the program for this period.
