Mohammad Javad Zarif, former Foreign Minister, expressed his deep concern about the possibility of a renewed attack on Iran during a meeting with political and social activists. This meeting, attended by Ahmad Zeidabadi and other reformist activists, was dedicated to discussing the Islamabad agreement and reflects deep concerns among political figures in the country.
Differences in Meetings and Objectives
Ahmad Zeidabadi, a political activist, emphasized in this meeting that unlike the previous two meetings, this time the majority of participants were reformists and critics of the current situation, with no representatives from the principlists, whether moderate or hardline, present. He pointed out that this meeting was held to hear opinions about the Islamabad agreement, and it seems that the presidency intends to convey a unified voice from the supporters of this agreement to the community.
Zarif's Concerns and Analysis of the Current Situation
Zeidabadi noted Zarif's statements in this meeting, highlighting that he was seriously worried about the country's security situation and the possibility of a renewed attack on Iran. Zarif issued serious warnings in this regard, reflecting his deep concern about the current situation. This political activist stated: "Zarif viewed the situation as critical, and his warnings were more intense and severe than others."
In this meeting, Mr. Pezeshkian, the President, also spoke and it seemed that he mostly reiterated previous opinions. Zeidabadi pointed out that at the end of the session, he raised a question that, due to a lack of time, was not adequately addressed.
Challenges Facing the Government and the Need for Swift Decision-Making
Zeidabadi identified the most concerning issue in this meeting as the lack of deep understanding of the current crisis in the country. He believes that necessary decisions must be made quickly and that the presidency should establish a coherent structure to address the current situation. He stated: "We are facing the deepest historical crisis in Iran."
This political activist emphasized that time for consultation and convincing others is limited, saying: "We must utilize courage and speed in decision-making, as we are currently experiencing very critical and complex conditions." He also pointed to the necessity of having highly capable individuals in decision-making levels, stating: "We need people with cleverness and special abilities to understand and control the situation."
In conclusion, Zeidabadi stressed that in these circumstances, courage in decision-making and the existence of a coherent structure to respond to existing crises are of utmost importance. This meeting reflects deep concerns among political figures and clearly highlights the necessity for cooperation and solidarity in facing upcoming challenges.
