Yemen's missile attacks on Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, today, Tuesday, October 15, 2023, were accompanied by loud explosions and the activation of air defense systems in the city. These developments come as the war between Saudi Arabia and the armed forces of Yemen has intensified in recent days.

Explosion Sounds in Riyadh and Defensive Reactions

The sounds of loud explosions in Riyadh quickly drew the attention of the city's residents. Following these explosions, the Saudi Civil Defense Organization announced that the early warning system in Riyadh and Al-Kharj province had been activated. The organization stated in a press release that "the threat in Riyadh has been eliminated," but did not provide further details about the nature or origin of the threat.

The spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition admitted to the firing of a ballistic missile from Yemen towards Riyadh, while claiming that the missile aimed at the city had been intercepted. These attacks indicate the intensity of the clashes between the two sides and the rising tensions in the region.

Escalation of War Between Saudi Arabia and Yemen

Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the armed forces of Yemen, announced yesterday that six military attacks against targets inside Saudi Arabia had been carried out in the past 48 hours, highlighting the severity of these clashes. According to him, ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones were used to target King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Abha Airport, Aramco facilities in Yanbu, and the Shaybah oil field.

This situation indicates that the war in Yemen has reached a new turning point, with both sides increasing their military power and the intensity of the clashes. These developments will not only affect the security and military situation in the region but will also have humanitarian and social consequences for the residents of these areas.

Given the intensity of these clashes and the resulting instabilities, many analysts predict that tensions will continue in the near future and may lead to further humanitarian crises.
