Why Do the Wrong People Keep Appearing in Our Lives?

Why do the wrong people keep appearing in our lives? Imagine someone who repeatedly enters relationships where they are overlooked. Each time a relationship ends, they decide not to let such a person into their life again; yet a few months later, they find themselves in a similar relationship. This repetitive cycle shows that we may unconsciously be drawn to familiar patterns.

Hidden Patterns and Unconscious Repetition

The issue is not necessarily that people deliberately choose such individuals. The human brain tends to favor familiar patterns, and sometimes what is familiar to us, even if it is painful, seems more predictable than something entirely different. For this reason, change does not happen simply by saying, 'I don’t want such a person anymore.' We need to understand why we are repeatedly attracted to the same pattern.

One of the hardest questions is: If an event has repeated itself in my life, what is my share in this matter? This does not mean blaming the victim. Someone who has faced abusive behavior, betrayal, mistreatment, or disrespect is not responsible for the other person's actions. However, we may need to examine why we see warning signs late, why we do not set our boundaries, or why we give chances to behaviors that have previously harmed us.

Changing the Frequency of Life

Life change begins when we ask, instead of 'Why do these people always come into my path?', 'What pattern do I have in choosing, staying, or reacting to these situations?' In spiritual texts, the term 'life frequency' is often used to describe a person's dominant mental and emotional state; that is, a set of thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and reactions that we live with most of the time.

For example, if someone constantly expects betrayal, failure, or rejection, their behavior may be influenced by this expectation. This change in 'frequency' is more about changing thought and behavior patterns, rather than being able to directly control life events with an invisible force.

To better understand this, write down three past relationships, three jobs, or three significant situations on paper and see what they have in common. What type of people have you chosen? At what stage did you realize there was a problem? What made you stay? And what behavior have you repeated each time?

Do you have the belief in your mind that 'I have to try very hard to be loved'? Or 'If I say no, I might lose the other person'? Or 'Good people are rare, and I shouldn’t miss the opportunity'? Sometimes, these seemingly simple beliefs guide important life decisions.

Overnight changes in thoughts do not mean changing all life events. But when we better understand our patterns, different choices become possible for us. We may see the warning signs earlier this time, set clear boundaries, not continue in a relationship that feels insecure, or react differently to behaviors we previously tolerated.

Perhaps the secret to changing the story of our lives is not to wait for different people and events; rather, it is to stop repeating the same previous choices ourselves.
