War is an experience that is not narrated from behind maps and statistics; rather, for a child living in the midst of it, war is a sound that suddenly rises and a street that changes its face. The film 'Flight', directed by Mehdi Akbarzadeh, seeks to depict these human and emotional experiences.
A Collective Effort Amidst Crisis
The making of the film during the Ramadan War has been an important backdrop for the formation of this work. A team of 25 professional cinema and television personnel have come together to create 'Flight'. The Municipality of District 19, as the executor of this film project, demonstrates that the creation of a cinematic work requires collective commitment and continuous effort, even in difficult circumstances. Supporting films with the theme of the Ramadan War can help highlight aspects of this experience that are less reflected in everyday narratives.

A Human Narrative of War
In 'Flight', the busy streets and the presence of sanitation workers who continue their work despite the wartime conditions remind us that daily life does not stop in the heart of a crisis. These details do not summarize war only in moments of tension; rather, they show it in relation to the ongoing lives of people and their efforts to preserve the city. A narrative of war from the viewpoint of children, if approached with care and free from slogans, can touch upon aspects of the human experience that are less visible in official narratives.
The impactful performance of Asra Ali Akbarzadeh in the role of Asra is one of the film's strengths. She conveys the character's delicate and childlike concerns to the audience. Zahra Sadeghian, in the role of the mother, presents a believable image of companionship and worry. 'Flight', the eighth social work of Mehdi Akbarzadeh, is a candidate for participation in short film festivals and the International Film Festival for Children and Adolescents, and it can convey this film's narrative of war experience and attachment to a broader audience.
