The President of the European Commission pointed to the importance of cooperation among EU member states in the field of security and stated that to confront common threats, European countries need to come closer together. Von der Leyen also noted that the establishment of the European Security Council could help strengthen relations between NATO and the European Union. She believes that this new entity could secure the interests of European countries against global threats by creating a common framework.
At the end of her speech, von der Leyen urged the representatives of the European Parliament to express their support for this proposal and to work together to develop a comprehensive plan for European security. She emphasized that achieving this goal requires close cooperation among all countries and relevant institutions to effectively overcome the challenges ahead.
