Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, on October 22 (Mehr 30), supported the United States' stance on considering the interests of Moscow and Kyiv in the future security architecture of Europe. These remarks come as Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, announced a trilateral meeting between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine in the first half of November (Aban 10 to 24) in Abu Dhabi.

New Developments in Ukraine Peace Talks

Peskov emphasized in a conversation with reporters that achieving a comprehensive solution to the Ukraine crisis is not possible without consultations on security issues between Russia and Ukraine. He also noted that discussions about the European security architecture are impossible without the presence of European representatives, and for this reason, the negotiations in Abu Dhabi will initially begin in a trilateral format.

These negotiations are set to begin as tensions in Ukraine continue, and many countries, especially in Northern Europe, are seeking to finance and prolong this conflict. These actions appear to be carried out by most European countries and indicate a lack of unity in their policies regarding the Ukraine crisis.

The Role of the EU Special Representative

The European Union is also considering appointing a special representative to play a greater role in the Ukraine peace talks. Potential candidates for this position include Giorgia Meloni, the Prime Minister of Italy, and Alexander Stubb, the President of Finland. These actions reflect the EU's desire to expand its role in the peace and security process in the region.

Vladimir Putin has also repeatedly announced Russia's readiness to discuss security issues with Europe. These positions have become particularly significant in the current situation, where the Ukraine crisis has turned into one of the biggest security challenges for Europe.

Given the current complex circumstances and the need for new security agreements, holding these negotiations in Abu Dhabi could be an important opportunity to reach new agreements. However, it remains to be seen whether the parties will be able to create an environment for dialogue and cooperation.
