The meeting of Arab leaders and Donald Trump, the President of the United States, took place on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. This meeting was attended by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of Turkey, and leaders from the Gulf Cooperation Council, Egypt, Lebanon, and Iraq. During this meeting, issues related to developments in the Middle East and the necessity of reducing tensions in the region were discussed.

Analysis of Middle Eastern Developments

In a statement released after the meeting, it was noted that the main objective of this session was to explore perspectives for reducing tensions and to emphasize political and diplomatic solutions as a priority. The Egyptian government, led by Mostafa Madbouly, also attended this meeting and stressed the need to achieve common interests and the aspirations of the people for peace and development.

Despite Donald Trump's claims about his efforts to establish peace in the West Asia, the realities still show that the region is affected by multiple wars and the aggressions of the Zionist regime in Gaza and Lebanon. The statement from this meeting appreciated Trump's efforts to achieve peace in the region and announced support for the full implementation of his plan for Gaza, especially the second phase of this plan.

Warning from the King of Jordan

King Abdullah II of Jordan referred to the sensitive regional conditions during this meeting and warned about the danger of escalating tensions and the spread of conflicts in the West Bank and Gaza. He specifically described any reckless actions as a threat to regional peace, especially with the upcoming Israeli elections in October, and emphasized the need to avoid any actions that could disrupt U.S. efforts to restore calm.

The King of Jordan also mentioned that although President Trump has a firm stance against the annexation of West Bank territory, the policies of the Israeli government contradict this stance. He also stressed the necessity of stopping the aggressions of the Zionist regime in Syria, as these actions undermine stability in the region.

During this meeting, Trump also announced that Steve Witteck and Jared Kushner, U.S. envoys, had a "constructive" meeting with Iranian representatives on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly sessions. This comes as Ismail Baqai, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, stated that this interaction occurred through mediation by Qatar, and the Iranian delegation clearly conveyed its views and conditions to the American side.

Baqai clarified that this is not a new issue, and the positions and views of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding issues related to the Strait of Hormuz and regional security had been raised previously. According to him, this opportunity was provided to clarify Iran's positions in New York.
