Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, clarified in his latest post on the social media platform Truth Social that Russia is not providing much assistance to the Islamic Republic of Iran compared to what it could do. This statement comes as tensions in the Middle East and the situation of the war in Ukraine remain at the center of global attention.

Russia and Iran: Cooperation or Indifference?

Trump wrote in this post: "Russia is doing very little, if anything at all, to help Iran compared to what it could do." He made these remarks in defense of his recent decision to suspend some new sanctions against Russia. Trump has faced significant criticism for this decision, particularly from Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine.

Trump also emphasized that he is negotiating for peace in the war between Russia and Ukraine and does not want Moscow to distance itself from the negotiating table due to reckless actions. He believes that significant progress has been made in these negotiations and for this reason, he wishes to maintain his communications with Russia.

Tensions in the Middle East and Their Impact

Meanwhile, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz has also become more complicated due to recent developments. The Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that a tanker passing through the Strait of Hormuz collided with a sea mine and caught fire. According to the IRGC, this tanker was passing without adhering to regulations and had its navigation systems turned off.

This incident highlights the ongoing tensions in this vital waterway, which is referred to as a key point for global oil trade. The United States and Iran each claim control over this waterway, and this issue could significantly impact international relations.

The U.S. embassies in the Middle East also issued a warning for American citizens in the region following Houthi attacks, urging them to be more vigilant. These warnings reflect concerns about the potential for escalating tensions in the region, which could quickly lead to larger conflicts.

Ultimately, Trump, by referencing the situation between Iran and Russia, is attempting to present a new image of international relations and existing challenges. While he emphasizes the progress of negotiations, it remains to be seen whether these efforts can lead to a reduction in tensions and the establishment of stability in the region or not.
