The Tax Administration has sent text messages to taxpayers asking them to review the registered purchase and sale information in their name. This information must be reviewed by October 20, and if discrepancies are observed, taxpayers must take action to confirm or reject it.
Tax Messages and the Necessity of Reviewing Information
You may have received the following tax message recently. This message is sent not only to individuals engaged in economic activities but also to those who have no economic activities at all. Many people may be unaware of the reason for receiving this message and do not know how to correct or reject incorrect information.

The Tax Administration informs you that even if you are not a merchant, there may be information about some of your purchases or transactions registered in the tax system. For example, if you are buying insurance for your car or purchasing an airline ticket, this information may be sent to the Tax Administration using your national ID number.
The Purpose of Collecting Tax Information
One of the main objectives of the Tax Administration in collecting this information is to clarify transactions and calculate taxes more accurately. Purchase and sale information can help the administration better review transactions. The Tax Administration focuses on two types of taxes: income tax and value-added tax. These two types of taxes should not be confused with each other.
If you are an employee and do not own a business or shop, there may still be information from some transactions or services you have received registered in the system. The administration has also provided a portal for non-merchants so that individuals can view the information registered in their name.
How to Correct Incorrect Information?
If incorrect information has been registered in your name, the Tax Administration suggests that you log into the tax system and review the information. To do this, you should go to the "Transaction Information 169 Repeated" section and then to the "Response to Information System" section. Here, you can review the registered purchase and sale notifications in your name and, if discrepancies exist, take action to reject or report the discrepancy.
The Tax Administration has also announced that the sent messages do not imply tax debt and has asked taxpayers to review their information within the specified time and take action in case of discrepancies.
