The time for the resumption of commercial activity at the Chazabeh border has been officially announced. Shahla Amouri, the head of the Ahvaz Chamber of Commerce, stated that after a temporary halt in the activities at the Shalamcheh and Chazabeh borders due to the Iraqi side's decision, intensive consultations have taken place between the officials of the two countries.
Time for Resuming Passenger Traffic and Goods Exchange
According to the planned schedule, passenger traffic from the Chazabeh and Shalamcheh borders will resume at 6 AM on Sunday, September 13. Furthermore, the commercial section of the Shalamcheh border will also be active from 6 AM on Monday, September 14. Currently, commercial exchanges are ongoing at this crossing.

Start of Commercial Activity at Chazabeh
Amouri continued that the commercial and cargo transport activities at the Chazabeh border will begin at 6 AM on Thursday, September 17. In this situation, trucks carrying Iran's export goods destined for Iraq, which have been unable to pass due to the temporary halt in commercial activity at the Chazabeh border, will remain stationed at the border until Thursday morning. Heavy traffic of cargo vehicles and export trucks is observed in the vicinity of this crossing.
The head of the Ahvaz Chamber of Commerce noted that with the coordination and measures taken by the executive bodies, customs, border guards, and other related institutions, damage or harm to perishable and time-sensitive goods has been prevented so far. Managing the cargo fleet, organizing trucks, and prioritizing sensitive shipments are among the actions being taken to mitigate the consequences of the temporary halt in commercial activity at the Chazabeh border.
Amouri also stated that the Iraqi side has cited the reason for the short-term halt in activities at some border crossings as the implementation of technical and organizational measures, enhancing security controls, and facilitating the flow of goods and passengers. Despite this temporary restriction, the flow of commercial exchanges between Iran and Iraq has not completely stopped, and activities at the Zarbatiyeh and Mandhariyah crossings continue around the clock.
She emphasized the importance of the Chazabeh and Shalamcheh borders as the main outlets for exporting goods from Khuzestan to Iraq, noting that the reopening of the commercial section of Chazabeh on Thursday will facilitate the expedited exit of export goods and the gradual return to normal trading processes at this crossing.
