The price of chicken in the Iranian market has decreased to 270,000 tomans per kilogram. In this context, the Livestock Support Company has started supportive purchases of chicken to prevent a severe drop in producers' prices. This supportive purchase is being conducted at a rate of 335,000 tomans per kilogram.
Reasons for the decrease in chicken prices
In recent months, the price of chicken had reached nearly 400,000 tomans due to rising production costs and fluctuations in supply. However, the CEO of the Poultry Farmers Union has announced that increased production and improved supply of inputs have strengthened the supply of chicken in the market and reduced price pressure.

Export plans and the future of the chicken market
The Director General of Foreign Trade at the Livestock Support Company has also announced plans to export 30,000 tons of chicken. This action is aimed at directing part of the surplus production to foreign markets and can help stabilize the domestic market. According to him, this plan will also contribute to increasing the country's foreign exchange revenues and improving the situation of producers.
It seems that with the continuation of this trend, we will witness further decreases in chicken prices in the market. Given the increasing demand of society for this protein product and its impacts on the households' livelihood basket, these developments could herald a better future for producers and consumers.
