The National Meteorological Organization announced the continuation of intermittent activity of a precipitation system in Tehran province with a yellow alert, stating that from Friday (October 30) to Tuesday (November 4), in the northern half of Tehran province, especially in the foothills and highlands, light fog, rain showers, thunderstorms, and temporary strong winds are predicted at certain hours.
Forecast of Rain and Snow
According to this alert, in the higher elevations and peaks, there will also be light fog, rain showers, and occasionally snow showers, with temporary strong to very strong winds and thunderstorms, as well as the possibility of storms, hail, and lightning. These weather conditions could lead to hazards such as slippery roads, temporary flooding, and runoff in various areas.

Additionally, the temporary rise in the water level of some rivers and the possibility of flooding in dry riverbeds, the risk of rockfalls and landslides in mountainous areas, and damage to agricultural products and facilities are other consequences of this weather situation.
Significant Drop in Temperature and Possibility of Frost
The Meteorological Organization has also predicted that the average temperature in Tehran province will drop by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius. In some elevations, especially in the northeastern highlands, there is a possibility of temporary nighttime frost on the ground and recording minimum temperatures below 5 degrees Celsius. This drop in temperature may pose risks of thermal stress and frostbite.
In this regard, the Meteorological Organization has warned to exercise caution in urban traffic and travel, especially in mountainous areas, and emphasized that one should avoid traveling and camping near rivers and dry riverbeds. It is also recommended to refrain from moving nomads and grazing livestock in mountainous areas and to be cautious in nature tourism.
Moreover, the Meteorological Organization has stressed the preparedness of executive and rescue agencies to deal with the potential consequences of these weather hazards and has requested that users of natural resource areas refrain from ascending peaks and being present in mountainous areas and river valleys, especially in the afternoon and evening hours.
Finally, cleaning the mouths of bridges, dredging channels and drainage systems, and preparing heating equipment in the northern parts of the province, especially the northeast, are among the actions that should be taken to prevent potential consequences.
