The mental health status of Iranians is severely affected by economic and social crises. War, political uncertainties, and financial problems have imposed significant psychological pressures on the daily lives of people. Dr. Amirhossein Jafari, the head of Roozbeh Psychiatric Hospital in Tehran, warns that neglecting psychological and social support can have irreparable consequences for society.

Increase in Visits to Psychiatric Centers

Dr. Jafari emphasizes that there are currently signs of increased psychological pressure in society. Although the number of patients visiting Roozbeh Hospital has not significantly increased, a gradual upward trend is observable. He states that if mental health is not adequately addressed, this trend may intensify and lead to larger problems.

Shortage of Psychiatric Medications and Treatment Challenges

The head of Roozbeh Psychiatric Hospital further points out the existing problems in accessing psychiatric medications, stating: "We are facing serious shortages in psychiatric medications. This area is severely affected by high prices and shortages of drugs, and many patients struggle with these challenges." He also notes that the consequences of mental disorders do not only affect the individual but also impact families and society.

Signs of Psychological Burnout in Society

In response to the question of whether it can be said that Iranian society has reached psychological burnout, Dr. Jafari points out: "We are encountering individuals who have developed signs of psychological burnout for various reasons, but this does not mean that the entire society is in this condition." He refers to the individual nature of the problems and states that environmental and economic tensions can lead to mental illnesses such as anxiety and depression.

Recommendations for Improving Mental Health

Dr. Jafari concludes by emphasizing the importance of self-care and caring for family members, urging policymakers to pay special attention to improving people's access to mental health services. He says: "We need to revise our perspectives and think about ourselves and our loved ones in order to overcome these psychological pressures."
