The shooting at a school in Oregon, USA, yesterday came close to a disaster that was averted by the courageous and timely intervention of a teacher and a father, saving many lives. Mike Krantz, the police chief of Bend, announced in a press conference that these two individuals prevented the situation from worsening with their heroic actions.
Details of the Incident and Victims
The police provided more details about the incident and identified two of the four victims. Rome Summer, a five-year-old child, and Megan Lambert, a 25-year-old teacher, were among the victims of this shooting. The families of two other students who lost their lives do not wish to publicly disclose their children's names.

In this shooting, two others were injured, one of whom is a 54-year-old teacher who is still receiving treatment in the hospital, and the other is a seven-year-old student whose condition is reported as serious but stable.
Courage in Critical Conditions
Mr. Krantz stated that the teacher who confronted the armed individual was unharmed but helped prevent further bloodshed. The suspect, Griffin J. John II, 16, had previously attended this school and was a student who needed special education. He had fired about 15 shots before being subdued by the father, Caleb Giammanco, who acted in a critical situation.
Caleb Giammanco, who legally had a weapon in his vehicle, was passing by the school on his way home when he saw the shooting and rushed inside. The brother of this 36-year-old carpenter said he decided to pursue the suspect and consequently fired several shots at him.
The Giammanco family stated that he has spent his entire life in Bend and is not seeking fame. They also expressed gratitude for the widespread support from the community and emergency services and requested that the media respect their privacy.
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, praised Caleb Giammanco's actions, calling him a "great hero" and added that if this intervention had not occurred, the situation could have been much worse.
