Azim Sohrabi, the investigator of the 9th branch of the Tehran Criminal Court, reported on the case of a young boy who disappeared after going to the south of the country due to family disputes and faking his identity.

Mysterious Disappearance

In early December of last year, the mother of a young boy approached the Tehran police and reported her son's disappearance. She explained that her son had gone to the south of the country for work and in his last phone call, he announced that he had taken leave and would return home soon. However, after that, his calls were cut off and there was no news of him.

The family went to the south of the country to follow up on their son's situation, but they were informed that he had taken leave and had not returned. Police investigations were initiated at the request of Investigator Sohrabi, and evidence showed that the young boy had last entered a side road with a vehicle that had a tampered license plate, where there were no cameras.

New Clues and Confessions

After 10 months of continuous follow-ups, the officers obtained a clue indicating the presence of a man matching the description of the missing boy on one of the islands in the south of the country. The officers went there and questioned him, but he claimed he did not know the missing person and only resembled him.

However, one of his colleagues at the café confessed that this man had told him he was smuggling and that the police were after him. He had asked his colleague to prepare fake documents for him and even to get a SIM card in his name. Ultimately, when the young boy realized his identity had been revealed, he confessed that he had come to the south of the country due to disagreements with his family and had devised a plan to hide from them.

He said: "My family had been pressuring me for a long time and I couldn't bear it. That's why I decided to escape from Tehran and live on a new island."

Azim Sohrabi confirmed this news, adding: "The family of the young boy has forgiven him and has withdrawn their complaint, as there was no crime involved and the case has been closed."
