Today, Tuesday, October 6, 2023, the Tehran Stock Exchange experienced one of its most bullish trading days, with the overall index rising by 189,119 units, reaching a total of seven million and 463 thousand units. This significant growth occurred after the overall index had dropped by more than 103,000 units in yesterday's trading, and today a large portion of this decline was recovered.
Simultaneous Growth of Indices
Alongside the overall index, the equal-weighted index also increased by 44,747 units, surpassing the two million unit mark. This simultaneous growth indicates that today's upward trend was not limited to just a few large symbols, but a significant portion of market symbols experienced price increases.

Number of Transactions and Their Value
Despite the significant growth of the indices, the number of transactions on the Tehran Stock Exchange today fell below one million, with 749,905 transactions recorded. The value of transactions was approximately 29.5 trillion tomans. On this day, the symbols of Foulad, Pars, Shepna, Taban, Foolad, Shabandar, and Shasta had the most impact on the growth of the overall index of the Tehran Stock Exchange.
Additionally, the Iran Over-the-Counter Index also grew by 1,317 units, reaching above 60,000 units, with 413,120 transactions conducted in the OTC market. The symbols of Maroun, Fazar, Arya, Saman, Koghar, Neshkar, and Arfa were among the influential symbols on this market's index.
Today's movement in the capital market can be seen as a continuation of the severe fluctuations of the indices in recent days. After a drop of more than 103,000 units yesterday, the market today compensated a large portion of the downward trend with a rise of 189,000 units. The equal-weighted index surpassing two million units also indicates broader participation of various symbols in today's upward trend.
However, the transaction value of about 29.5 trillion tomans and the decrease in the number of transactions to below one million indicate that the intensity of the index growth does not necessarily mean a proportional increase in trading volume. The overall index is now only about 37,000 units away from the 7.5 million unit level, and transactions in the coming days could determine whether the market can stabilize in this range or face fluctuations once again.
