Syria, in a firm stance regarding regional crises, once again emphasized the importance of the security of Saudi Arabia and denied any rumors about the deployment of its military forces to Saudi Arabia.

Syria's Priorities in the Current Situation

The Syrian Ministry of Information stated in a statement that the country's policy is based on stability, peace, and cooperation, rather than opening new fronts. The ministry emphasized that Syria's absolute priority is the reconstruction of the country and strengthening state institutions. Additionally, cooperation with international partners to improve the living standards of Syrian citizens is also among the other priorities.

Denial of Troop Deployment to Saudi Arabia

Ahmad Mufaq Zaidan, media advisor to the Syrian presidency, announced in a post on the social media platform "X" that the security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries is considered part of Syria's security, and Damascus stands firmly with the people of Saudi Arabia. He also categorically rejected rumors about a request from Saudi Arabia for the deployment of Syrian forces to this country or Yemen, calling it "untrue."

These statements come as reports from international media, particularly Reuters, indicate that amid the intensification of the war against Ansar Allah in Yemen, American officials have mentioned the possibility of military cooperation between Syria and Saudi Arabia. According to this report, the options being considered include providing defensive assistance to Saudi Arabia or sending Syrian forces for offensive missions.

Behind-the-Scenes Talks

The website "Axios" also reported, citing American officials, that Saudi Arabia and Syria are discussing the deployment of Syrian forces to Yemen to participate in the attack against Ansar Allah. Ahmad al-Shara, the self-proclaimed president of Syria, is seriously considering this issue, but a final decision has not yet been made.

These developments reflect the increasing complexities in the relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia, as well as the ongoing security challenges in the Gulf region and Yemen. While Damascus emphasizes cooperation and security, signs of new conflicts and military developments are emerging that could impact the future of the region.
