SpaceX, a leading company in space technology, will soon enter the mobile services world by acquiring 800 MHz frequencies from Green Management. This action will not only aid in the development of communication infrastructure but could also significantly facilitate internet access in remote areas and underserved locations.
Acquisition of Strategic Frequencies
SpaceX's agreement to purchase the entire frequency license portfolio of Green Management includes a maximum of 14 MHz of paired frequency spectrum in the 800 MHz band. This deal, which currently requires approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), could serve as a foundational cornerstone in the development of Starlink mobile services.

Lower frequencies generally pass through various obstacles, such as walls, better, thus providing broader coverage. This feature could address one of Starlink's main challenges and enable more reliable communication services inside buildings.
Combining New Technologies
SpaceX is striving to offer services based on the synchronization of satellite and terrestrial frequency spectrum by combining new frequencies with the second-generation Starlink satellites. In this structure, satellite communication can cover remote areas, while terrestrial frequencies can enhance communication in urban environments and inside buildings.
Additionally, the Federal Communications Commission has recently granted permission for the deployment of 15,000 second-generation Starlink mobile satellites. These satellites are optimized to operate in the 2 GHz spectrum, and according to SpaceX, this generation of satellites could provide over 100 times the bandwidth of the current generation, increasing the capacity for high-speed internet delivery in more regions of the world.
A significant advantage of this plan is that many modern smartphones support the 800 MHz band. Therefore, SpaceX will not need to produce new dedicated devices to offer services based on this frequency, allowing it to quickly attract more users.
With these developments, SpaceX aims not only to elevate Starlink beyond a satellite internet service but also to become a serious player in the mobile communications market. This initiative could lead to major changes in global communication methods, especially in areas where internet and communication access is still limited.
Overall, SpaceX's recent steps toward developing mobile services demonstrate the company's serious commitment to advancing communication technologies and addressing the growing needs of users worldwide.
