Soheila Amini Moghadam, an obstetrician and gynecologist, provided new scientific explanations regarding the HPV virus, addressing community concerns about the transmission of this virus through swimming pool water. Many individuals avoid using public pools due to fear of contracting this virus, but recent scientific findings have completely changed this perception.

HPV Virus and Aquatic Environments

Amini Moghadam, by examining the nature of this virus closely, explained that contrary to common beliefs, the HPV virus is not capable of surviving in aquatic environments. She emphasized that this virus requires living human cells and direct mucosal contact for transmission and activity. This means that even if the pool water is chlorinated or in normal conditions, the HPV virus cannot survive in water for a significant period of time.

Transmission Methods of HPV Virus

Amini Moghadam stated that the likelihood of transmitting this disease through swimming or using pool water is nearly zero. She also pointed out the main methods of transmission of this virus, stating that it is only transmitted through direct skin-to-skin and mucosal contact during sexual relations. Her emphasis is that spreading fear about public environments like swimming pools only creates unnecessary anxiety in the community.

This obstetrician and gynecologist concluded by recommending that instead of worrying about public environments, the focus should be on prevention through scientific and correct methods. This approach can help reduce anxiety and increase community awareness regarding public health.
